You can change the Windows account password for your ForexVPS directly from inside the VPS using Control Panel. This guide walks you through navigating to User Accounts and setting a new password for the trader account.
Before you start: You’ll need your current ForexVPS password to complete this change. If you don’t have access to your current password, use the client portal reset process instead.
What you’ll need
- An active Remote Desktop session connected to your ForexVPS
- Your current VPS password
- A new password you’d like to set
Part 1: Navigate to User Accounts
Step 1: Open Computer Management
Inside your trading VPS, click the START menu, then type Computer Management.

Step 2: Navigate to Local Users and Groups
In Computer Management, expand Local Users and Groups, then select Users.

Step 3: Set a New Password
Right-click on your user account (trader) and select Set Password.

A warning message will appear. Click on Proceed to continue.

Enter a new alphanumeric password in both fields and confirm it.

Step 4: Finalize Your Changes
Once you’ve confirmed your new password, click OK to save your changes.

Your VPS password is updated immediately. Use the new password the next time you connect via Remote Desktop, Windows App, or browser login.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| “Change Password” button greyed out | New password fields don’t match | Re-type the new password in both fields, making sure they match exactly. |
| Locked out after changing the password | Password not updated in saved RDP credentials | Update the saved password in Remote Desktop Connection, Windows App, or your browser session manager. |
| Forgot the current password | No access to complete this in-VPS method | Use the client portal password reset process instead — it doesn’t require the current password. |
